Usually towards the end of my monthly Netflix round up, I add a section on what I’m looking forward to next month. Last months was empty…
There was NOTHING I was looking forward to for May. Instead, I rewatched Stranger Things and worked my ass off. Yes, I worked more instead of spending it in front of the telly. Netflix, let’s not do this again. I miss you.
I did watch a few movies and shows but there where more disappointing films/shows than anything worth my life time. Before I tell you the shows I felt made the cut for this month, here’s what failed for me…
Firstly, Last Summer. What a boring film. I thought the story was a bit of a joke, the characters weren’t likable, I didn’t care about them and I just wanted it to end as soon as possible. 1 hour 49 minutes too long.
Second film not to waste your time over is Rim of the World. I love a good SciFi alien Apocalypse film but this was really, really, really bad. Bad story, bad acting, bad, casting, bad, bad, bad.
Good Sam is the last film to avoid. I seriously thought this film had some potential but there was so many things that just went horribly wrong. The lead actress was badly casted. She wasn’t believable, I didn’t get any personality out of her and her reactions were just stale. The other characters were great but she let the film down. The other thing was the plot. You could see what was going to happen and this feel good film…didn’t make me feed good at all. More like eating a good meal then getting food poisoning before finishing the meal. Rant over.
So what did I enjoy…
In the first few episodes I was ready to put this on my avoid list. It’s like a dummy’s guide to politics, A city run my teenagers? Please. But somewhere a few episode in…I was hooked. I just had to know what happened next?
It’s weird addictive. There’s so many unanswered questions. It’s like LOST! Yes! LOST! But no amazing beach, no fit doctor Fox, they all have working iPhones and their all teenagers.
I think a lot of women can relate to this film in so many ways. This film represents me and my friends down to a T and I can imagine this being us in 20 years. I think a lot of groups of friends are going to love this film.
JUNE ON NETFLIX
The most exciting series to grace Netflix next month is the return of Black Mirror. I can’t contain my excitement about this series. I’ve loved it since Series 1. However, it’s had a slight Hollywood makeover. Is your British audience not good enough for you anymore?
Lastly, Netflix are giving us a new rom com and it’s called Always Be My Maybe. Netflix are on a roll with these so I’m excited to see this next one.
GLEEEEEEEE! Yes Gleeks, Glee is back. Well sort of. No new series but all the box sets are coming to Netflix for us to binge over. Saves me getting the DVDs out. 4 episodes per DVD is really annoying. I have to get up….what’s that about.
