Like we didn’t have enough problems trying to fit in all our favourite Christmas films into one month, Netflix have gone and made their own Christmas film selection. Of course they did. There are 6 festival fun films to watch this December with all the Christmas vibes you could have hoped for.
You’ve got the standard Royal Christmas fun, the good old switch-a-roo and let’s not forget Santa’s comes to…stream on our screens.
All the ingredients needed to enjoy this festive season and stay out the bitter cold this Winter. The only thing you need to decide is which one first? Don’t forget to add them to your list…not the naughty or nice list but your Netflix list. Sorry, I had to.
This Christmas movie is about a proper rich kid brat who is next in line for her fathers company. She’s a proper party girl, very unprofessional, not a clue about the real world and still has a lot to learn. She’s sent on an errand into the sticks to full fill a Christmas tradition for her father. As someone who has been working since she was 14…I quite enjoyed this clueless little rich girl getting her hands dirty.
The Christmas Chronicles
When you think Santa films have been done to death and should be left well alone by now…here comes The Christmas Chronicles. For me, no film will ever beat classics like The Santa Claus and Miracle on 34th Street but The Christmas Chronicles actually shocked me.
I loved it! It’s somewhere in the middle of cheesy and classic but keeps to the authenticity of Santa’s story in a modern era. It’s also got a great story line, characters and it made me cry. No joke. I highly recommend this one. Kurt Russell makes an excellent Santa.
The Holiday Calendar
Finally, a bit of magic in this Christmas film mix. This time in a form of an old vintage Christmas calendar which mysterious opens each day to predict the future. Spooky. The calendar is purely a form of Christmas guidance to show her what we are all screaming at the screen from the start. Totally predictable but still a lovely film to watch.
A Christmas Prince
Hello Cheese fest! The film that started it all and set the parade of Netflix films probably for more years to come. A reporter imposes as a tutor for the little Princess while trying to land a huge scoop on her brother who should become king. Obviously, as these films go, she falls for him. Shock. The truth comes out. Bigger shock. But how does it all work out?
A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding
Well here the answer to my previous question and massive spoiler as this is the sequel. There’s also a wedding. I wonder who’s wedding that is? Shows how much of a huge success the first film was to land a sequel though. Happy Christmas everyone!
The Princess Switch
Just like it says on the tin. This film involves the good old switch-a-roo. Princess tries out the simple life and the commoner gets a taste of royalty. The gorgeous Vanesssa Hudgens plays the look a likes and it fantastic in it. There’s even a bit of baking included which is a cherry on top for this Christmas flick. Also includes a mysterious old man who may or may not be magic?
