Netflix has let me down this month with decent Netflix Originals to watch. I’ve spent most of the month being addicted to shows on regular TV for a change. Great British Bake Off, The Circle and Bodyguard have been dominating my TV viewing. I’ve also been trying to finish Orange is the New Black which I’ve nicely dragged out instead of binging it quickly like normal.

Everything new on Netflix this month hasn’t interested me or made me massively disappointed with silly story lines. I haven’t had chance to watch The Maniac yet which was release a few days ago, so that will probably be in next months round up.

I tried to watch The Staircase but there’s only so many times you can look at a staircase until you get bored and it’s too much trying to be like Making a Murderer. I like Original story lines, it’s been done. Make something new! Iron Fist Season 2 I would spend any more time on if you paid me (I would for The Defenders but just for Charlie Cox. Fit).

Next month has got some decent TV shows lined up like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which I’m really excited as this was one of my favourite shows growing up. DareDevil Season 3 just to mention Charlie Cox again and I really do enjoy this Marvel TV show as I’m not really a fan of any of the others. Finally, Making a Murderer Season 2 finally returns to our screens with more evidence and findings to the case.

As I had no new Netflix Originals to enjoy this month, I’m going to share the other TV shows and films I have been watching and loving on Netflix recently.

Check out more of my monthly Netflix Recommendations.

How much better is AGT compared to ours?! Seriously. I’ve been addicted to watching this shows crazy over the top acts. I’ve spotted a few acts that were actually on Britain’s Got Talent which I didn’t appreciate. However, some of their magic and stunt acts really had me on the edge of my seat. Not a fan of Tara as the presenter for this show thought as much as I love her on ANTM.

Prepare for your heart string to be pulled a part with this film. It’s a beautiful story about a child who is “different” from the other kids. Growing up facing surgery after surgery to help him live but leaves him with scarred and visibly stands out from the other kids at school. Showing how to be kind, brave and make friends. Top cast too.

I loved this film. Seriously, underrated. It’s a true story but different to any Army film I’ve seen before. It’s based around the combat dogs specialised in bomb sniffing. In particular one dog called Rex and his handler Megan Leavey. It’s a great heroic story and the touching companionship between the Leavey and Rex.

I was not prepared for this film and as much as I want to prepare people for it, I would totally be spoiling the ending for everyone. It’s kind of predictable half way through as you can see where it’s leading, but the story is still very intriguing and nothing like what I expected. There’s another film out there that’s very similar but still it’s still a good film.

Great recommendations. I’ll go back to see what I’ve missed the previous month.
