I’ve had a lot of time on my hands this month and managed to sieve through all the good, bad and bad right awful films and TV series that Netflix has to offer. Some that didn’t make the cut were The Insatiable which had enormous potential but for me was quite shallow and not funny at all. The Innocents was the weirdest show I’ve seen in a while. Confusing and ridiculous to be quite frank. The Beyond was 2 hours of my life I will never get back. All I see is you was interesting point of view about a Blind person but visually hard to watch with the light effects but maybe that’s my Asperger’s talking. Dark Tourist is…odd but I want to give this one another shot so maybe you’ll see it in next months list? Maybe. Basically in summary, if the title starts with “The” on Netflix…it sucks.
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
The ladies in Orange jumpsuits are back and they’re in MAX! I’ve only watched a few episodes so far because I want to stretch this series out. Last time, I binge watched the whole series in a few days and was left with an empty whole in my schedule. So far so good and it’s a lot less intense than the last series. More laughs, less dramatics…but I am only a few episodes in.
I was slightly offended when Netflix sent me an email recommending this as a film I might like, with a summary of “married woman gets left at the alter“. Great. What you trying to say Netflix. It’s actually quite funny and it’s got a great cast. It’s bringing back all the great cruise memory vibes too.
Woah! Was not expecting this to be so interesting as it was. I was totally ready for this to be awful and a standard Sci-Fi thriller but what an unexpected turn and twist at the end. I had to stop and rewind it to watch it again because I was so confused. I thought I missed something but no, I was blind sighted the whole time. Well done Netflix. You got me.
TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE
Netflix are really hitting the romcom genre on the head lately. With previous films like Set it Up and The Kissing Booth, this film is perfect along side them. I’m so happy to see RomComs making a comeback! This film is about a girl who wrote letters (yes, letters are those things we use to write on pieces of paper before we used social media to message fit people or slide into their DMs) to guys she loved in the past but never sent them. Now they’ve gotten into their hands and she’s having a mini breakdown about it especially when one of them is her sisters boyfriend. DRAMA!
