In May, we were spoiled rotten with new shows, documentaries and films from Netflix Originals. There was also a cheeky ITV series surprise thrown in which I deeply appreciated with the run up to Summer. There were so many shows to watch, I’m still not up to date with some of these shows. Netflix didn’t leave time to be bored this month. Highly entertaining programming this month.
TEXT!!!! The new season of Love Island isn’t far away and Netflix have given us Seasons 1 & 2 to enjoy in the meantime. Time to brush up on phrases like Muggy, he’s 100% my type on paper, getting pied, you melt, stick it on her, crack on, what a sort, get grafting and start peacocking. All we need now is Season 3 on Netflix to put the cherry on top…and season 4 to finally hit our TV screens.
I usually stay far away from subtitled shows, mostly because I’m dyslexic and struggle to read the fast text to understand what’s going on. However, this is a Sci-Fi TV series which swayed me to watch. I watched it with English dubbing so there were no subtitles but the lip sync does get quite annoying. The show is actually quite good for another apocalyptic SciFi thriller but with a difference. Instead of a deadly virus which comes out of nowhere and kills everyone, it’s in the rain.
Dexter with an English accent really through me at first but the story is actually quite intense and keeps you guessing. Another girl goes missing crime drama but in a small town in the North of England (near my home town). My only problem with this show is some of the actors are REALLY BAD but it’s actually becomes quite comical.
If you liked Making a Murderer for you. It’s a great crime documentary with all the twists and turns like Making a Murderer. It’s only got 4 parts which are less than an hour each but it’ll do till the next season of MAM comes out for us to all obsess over the theories all over again. FYI the first 5-10 minutes will have you hooked.
I love cheesy romcoms with a passion. This film is right on point with some of my favourite romcoms out there like, A Cinderella Story, She’s the Man, 10 things I hate about you and She’s all that. It’s a modern high school love story with all the old school romcom elements. Forbidden fruit, a plan and mean girls.
13 REASONS WHY
It’s back! Season 2 hit our screens this month and I’m loving it. It’s not as good as the first season but I love these characters and Hannah’s story. The season also takes a responsible leap by adding a helpline at the beginning and end of each episode. No tapes this time but an equally retro media of Polaroids. Who will win in court and who made the Polaroids?
