Summer is officially on the way and the cinema rooftops of London have now opened! Last week, I attended the opening night of Rooftop Film Club in Peckham, London. I’m a massive movie geek and I’ve always wanted to go to one of these showings since I moved to London 2 years ago. I going to the movies and love attending any unique cinema experiences which London has to offer.

I’ve been on the London Dating scene for a while now and with the right guy, this would be my perfect date scenario. It combines all the elements I enjoy. A few drinks, miniature American food, perfect London City views, pink sunsets and classic films. Just need to find the perfect date now! If you’ve got a date coming up, if it’s a 1st or 100th date, if you’re married or just looking for your next girls night out, this is definitely a great night out for all occasions.

The venue is incredible. It’s situated on 5th/6th Floor of the Bussey Building. The film doesn’t start till sunset (for obvious reasons) so make sure you arrive a few hours before that to enjoy the rest of the experience. This gives you some decent chat time with your date or friends before the film starts. There’s a rooftop bar on the other side of the building where you can enjoy a drink (or three) and take in all the amazing views of London.

RockaDollar Dogs were being cooked fresh off the grill, which were absolutely delicious. I might have had a few of those to soak up the gorgeous Rum cocktails being served at the bar. Perfect mini sliders which are the perfect size if you’re on a date.

There was also a Palm reader at the event. I’ve never had my palm read before, so I was eager to see what she would say. Unfortunately, I’m not going to be a millionaire which was a given but the rest was scarily accurate. I was actually quite shook up and emotional afterwards.

I can tell you a few things. She turned one of the tarot cards and told me I was going to get married. Apparently, I’ve already met him which is great so I guess I can stop looking. My instant reaction was that I hope he doesn’t look like that guy on the card. Giant red robes, clean shaven and looking a bit bored. Not my type. Only one child though. Better be a good one.

Once the sun goes down and you’ve taken a dozen photos of the amazing pink sky over the incredible London skyline, it’s time to watch the movie. It gets pretty cold up there but fear not, there’s warm blankets to snuggle up in. There’s also popcorn and sweets on offer to enjoy a truly authentic cinema experience. Grab your headphones to block out the London noise, sit back or get ready to cuddle up with your date and enjoy the movie.

Here’s a few different types of films you can watch under the starry skies of London for summer 2018:

Romantic Movies

Classic Movies

New Movies

Anniversary Movies

Mate Date Movies

Please note, not all of these films will be on at each cinema location.

Rooftop Film Club has 3 different locations across London to pick from. Bussey Building in Peckham, Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch or Roof East in Stratford. All have bars, great views of London and an amazing selection of films.

They’re not just based in London either. They have Rooftop Film Clubs in America too. Located in Los Angeles, San Diego, Miami and New York. Quite tempted by the NYC location myself for when I go back in June.

For me, I think it’s got all the elements needed to make the perfect date or a great night out with friends. You’re guaranteed to have an amazing night out whatever the occasion. Rooftop Film Club sells out very quickly so go get your tickets NOW!
