I’m struggling to find a new TV series to watch. I’ve been binge watching TV shows back to back on Netflix for months and yet I’ve completely neglected all the stacks up box sets I’ve got stashed away. After, a good rummage through them all, I’ve realised there are some great box sets here that I would happily watched all over again. See if you agree! How many of these box sets would you watch from the beginning?

Pin this post or later:

Buffy was the hype of my generation! Everyone loved this TV series and was let’s face it, OBSESSED with Buffy and the Scooby gang. I did a film degree and many students used Buffy in their dissertations as it covered so many physiological aspects of growing up. No, we didn’t grow up with demons, vampires, witches and ware wolfs….I wish! But it did cover a lot of topics like Mental Illness, Cancer, coming out, what happens after death. A lot of these hadn’t been touched in such great details before and this is what made Buffy a great TV show to watch. That and most of the cast were HOT!

“I may be dead, but I’m still pretty.”

Oh, the O.C! The beautiful people of Orange County! How I miss you! Ryan and Melissa were THE COUPLE of the 2000s. Well, them and the cuteness of Summer and Seth who then went on to date in real life! OMG I wish that worked out. The O.C brought us weekly drama from the posh lives of the rich people of California and Ryan, the Chino kid taken under the wing of the Cohen family. Causing havoc every episode from his pool house to just riding his bike on the pier. This kid just can’t do anything right and I loved it.

“It’s a tale as old as time. Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy finds out girl is surrogate mom’s illegitimate step-mother.”

The OC

Let’s face it! This season of Game of Thrones is being talked about by everyone. If you haven’t seen it yet, I don’t know how you’ve not taken the plunge into this incredible show. I find it difficult avoiding Twitter at the moment as the US watch it the night before we do which I find super frustrating! The cast is mostly British. It’s filmed in the UK and Europe. Yet, we have to wait a day after America? So unfair! Anyway! This is a TV show I watch from the beginning every time there is a new series about to start. You have to catch up on the action to remember what’s happened and it’s just so good!

‘You know nothing, Jon Snow!’

Game of Thrones

It took me a while to get into the Walking Dead and I ended up binge watching the first 4 seasons to catch up. This is probably what I needed as I am obsessed with this show now. What a show! Like Game of Thrones, I can binge watch from the beginning to refresh myself and it’s just that good! Especially, Series 3 when they are living in the Prison. I prefer them living on the road to living safely which is a horrible thing to say but it was just more entertaining. That’s why watching it from the beginning is so worth it!

“Look at the flowers.”

Walking Dead

These women are still FABULOUS! I love watching these shows when they show reruns. There’s just nothing like this show on TV anymore and you can’t count the tackiness of Geordie Shore or Ex on the Beach. There as close as you can get and they teach you nothing but what not to do. These ladies were entertaining, quirky and hilarious. Their stories about love, men, fashion, sex and friendship are worth repeating.

“I know your friends just fine. Charlotte is the brunette, Miranda is the redhead, and Samantha is trouble.”

This TV series is not for the faint hearted. It’s so good though so if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you watch it ASAP! It’s about a blood spatter analyst who works for the FBI but he’s also a murderer! What!? I know right! What a cover! He knew from a young age of his urges so his police father taught him who to kill people, cover it up and leave no trace. Not only is he on a killing spree of his own but he’s also helping the FBI solve other murder cases. Brilliant!

“I’m a very neat monster.”

Ted Mosby and the gang take a spot for memorable life struggles through adulting and Ted’s quest to find “the one”. There’s 9 seasons of binge watching this charismatic group and hundreds of amazing one liners which some of us use in everyday life. Intervention, wait for it, legendary, doppelganger and one rule will never be thought of in the same way again.

“If you’re not scared, you’re not taking a chance. And if you’re not taking a chance, then what the hell are you doing?”

The TV series which made Netflix HUGE! This series was a slow burner here in the UK. It wasn’t till a few years after it was aired on TV and made its way to Netflix that it became unmissable TV. It also turned “binge watching” into a well known phrase. Thanks for the hours of lost life Netflix! Just kidding! I love a good binge watching session while I power through working at home. This series became a phenomenon and collected countless of awards for the hit show. It’s a great show to rewatch and live the thrilling action all over again.

“You, uh…you want to cook crystal meth? You. You and, uh…and me?”

Yes, it was cheesy but I loved it. If you have a problem with it then bite me…as the Cheerios would say! Season 1 had the worse numbers out of every season but they storyline and the characters became a global success. Who knew? The show won countless awards as well as some of the actors including Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Jane Jynch winning awards for their roles too. If anything, it’s a great singalong series but not for everyone. I’m very aware of this but it’s certainly one of a kind.

“You think that’s hard? I’m living with hepatitis…that’s hard!”

Our course, Friends was going to make this list. There was no denying it! Friends was and still is the best binge watching TV show to date. It’s on Netflix in Europe and everyday on Comedy Central. Don’t forget the whole box set on hand in my living in case I really want to watch Rachel and Ross go on a break again and again. It never gets old and I must have watched each episode countless times now but it still makes me laugh. It’s my go to and probably will be for a long time to come! I’ll be there for you!!!

“How you doin’?!”

I don’t know if I could rewatch Dexter again but it is indeed a very good show! I’m currently rewatching The X Files before the new season begins and also Private Practice is a show I can rewatch a million times without getting bored! 🙂

Yes yes yes to Friends, GOT and Buffy! And I always have a secret soft spot in my heart for Glee <3 Excellent post, loved reading it!

My go to re-binge-watch? Criminal Minds and/or RuPauls Drag Race (an odd mix I know, but I need a little Ru to balance out the darkness) xx

Ahhhh I loved this! So many brilliant series.

I also agree, the Walking Dead was fun when they were on the road. It was so gripping!! But now, I find it more dull. I need more Walkers! Don’t you love it when Rick says “CAaaRlllll!”

I actually need to watch Game of Thrones from the beginning again because I’m sure there are scenes I forgot about!

    Loved this!

I loved the OC and I did recently re-watch every season! One of my faves which I never ever EVER get bored of is Gavin & Stacey.

The OC! Now that was a great series back in the day. I’ve only watched a few episodes of GoT, just couldn’t get into it. I could watch Entourage and Friday Night Lights all of again.
