Summer is nearly over and so is Blockbuster season at the cinemas. However, we still have a few decent weeks of good weather (hopefully) so it’s time to grab the popcorn and check out some films! If you love going to the cinema like me, then there are some unique cinema experience you need to check out as soon as possible!
Secret cinema is where they show a film and build the whole world around the audience. It becomes a 4D experience. The space is completely decorated and has people acting out scenes from the movie. Amazing! I am dying to go to secret cinema! I was going to go to the last one but it was zombie themed and I don’t think I could have handled it, despite loving horror films. One step too far for me! I really want to go to the Moulin Rouge screenings they have on right now if I can get a friend to come with me.
Backyard Cinema goes fully out on there cinema design. For summer, they have a Miami Beach theme with deckchairs, sand, cocktails and pink flamingos. Right up my street! In Spring, they had a jungle theme and for Winter they go completely Chrismassy which is so cute. Not only are the cinemas just amazing but the films go with the surroundings. They pick out films to match the theme so you feel like your in the movie. Check out there website below and see some of the classics they are currently showing.
MOVIES ON THE RIVER
TimeOut are running their own unique cinema experience on London’s famous River Thames. Talk about magical! They had a selection of films from Oscar winning dramas to Disney movies for the whole family to enjoy. They’re coming to the end of their cinema boat season so try to grab a ticket while you still can.
ROOFTOP CINEMA CLUB
Great films. Epic Views of London. It’s all here. Imagine watching the sun set over London while watching a classic film on a rooftop in London. Amazing. This Cinema has some great films to chose from too. They have some classic movies in this cinema from Shawshank to Physco and the latest movies from Baby Driver to Spider-man. This is a summer experience not to miss!
THE PRINCE CHARLES CINEMA
Oooooo vintage! The Prince Charles Cinema has been located in Leicester Square in London. It plays cult, arthouse and classic films. From time to time it also has sing-a-long films like, The Sound of Music and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. They show films all year long! So no rush if you can’t make it this summer.
THE GRAND CINEMA
This cinema knows how to throw an event. Not only do they have an insane cinema experience with fancy dress, themed cocktails, drinking games, competitions and one giant cinema screen but they also throw an after party! Prepare for one hell of an evening!

The Exhibit in South West London has a cosy setting for some of your favourite movies. With comfy couches to snuggle up on with your partner or chill with a friend, this cinema is certainly has a relaxed feel to it. So grab your partner and head down the SW London instead of being stuck at home on your own couch.
These guys could be anywhere! They pop up all over London. They even have a showing coming up in a cemetery. In true nomad style they don’t have any seats to their name but you can rent chairs or blankets.
